To understand the everyday challenges of those who are unemployed and underemployed in the Baltimore region, we hear from them. Those with varied employment backgrounds share their stories about managing their households and stress levels, as they seek stable employment.

Then-to understand the psychological toll on children and families living in poverty-and its larger effect on the community-we turn to Dr. Steven Shapiro, clinical supervisor of 'Child Mobile Treatment Services' at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Dr. Shapiro is also the co-coordinator of Psychologists for Social Responsibility's Poverty and Inequality Project.

Then-what opportunities does the military present to individuals with limited employment prospects? To discuss this, Tom is joined by Staff Sargent Adam Harvey, an Army recruiter at the Mondawmin Mall Recruiting Station in Baltimore, and KT Tyler, a former Marine who is the Membership Chair for the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association of Black Veterans.
